Governors Island

IMG_5030.JPG
The Dutch actually landed on Governors Island before they settled at the foot of Manhattan. Now just a short ferry ride from New York City, the Island was most recently a Coast Guard base but a good part of the Island is now open to the public.
Governors Island is relatively small and its easy to get around by foot.IMG_5026.JPG A tour of the Island will provide the visitor with beautiful panoramic views of New York City, access to historic forts nearly 200 years old as well as views of the military presence that existed on the Island in years past. You won't believe you're still in New York City.
We'll walk around what is considered the Historic District  to observe as much of Governors Island as we can. This tour will cover about 3 miles and  last between 2 1/2 - 3 hours.
